My emotions are very displaced.
I feel angry at things I shouldn’t feel angry towards. Attached to things that make no sense to be attached to. Indifferent to the things I really should care more about.
Right now at least..
Why couldn’t this asshole have been born in like… 1979. He’d only be 33 today. It’s my one and only dying wish to meet his gloriousness.
So back in December I made a post about how the Jewish woman who half-owns the company I work for said Merry Christmas to me even though she’s Jewish. That was real sweet but… She’s taking off Friday for Passover, the other owner won’t even be here all day, and she won’t give us the day off. There are people here who celebrate Easter and Good Friday, but they can’t be home with their families. I don’t want to retract what I said in December, but this kind of cancelled it out.
Also, the office manager told me (while I was bitching about this, a holiday I don’t even celebrate - I just want the day off) that one of our salespeople who is Jewish told the mailman last year that Good Friday was a made up holiday. - Sorry dear, ALL of the holidays are made up. Fourth of July… it’s just a day. It’s the fourth day in July. Thanksgiving is made up. Martin Luther King Jr day is made up. Get off your high Jewish horse, and shut your mouth.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies make me feel different every time I watch them. That’s why they are the best movies. They never get old even though I’ve seen both a billion times.
Books and movies are two completely different story telling devices. Once you accept that, you can stop getting so outraged when movies don’t turn out like books. You might actually enjoy them! I loved The Hunger Games movie and book.
This is just one post that I was reading and felt like I needed to share, because she writes and explains things better than I can. But the rest of the blog is full of natural everything, and the Food For Your Soul section has a lot of good reading in it. I know people look at this stuff and see it as a bunch of crap, but read what she’s saying here about conventional wisdom, and how it changes over the years, and what garbage you might believe because of it.
Also, this woman is pretty funny.
